For 21 years the Easter Sun Run has brought thousands of participants from around the state and country at Sedgwick County Park. This year’s event will be held April 4, and includes a 10K, 2-mile race, and the 2-mile Jeff Wenzel Memorial Walk. After the races, an awards ceremony and barbecue will be held.

The Easter Sun Run has grown from its humble beginnings 21 years ago with 250 runners, to one of the premier road races in the Midwest, reaching more than 2500 runners and countless additional attendees at the race’s peak. All proceeds from the event go to Youth Horizons.
The mission of Youth Horizons is to empower children and their families to become healthy and productive members of the community and create a nationwide awareness of the needs of at-risk youth. That mission is carried out through mentoring and residential programs, which have been the focus of Youth Horizons’ efforts since 1989.
