First Cup: Juneteenth ICT
Thu, Jun 18 · 9:30a – 10:30a
For months now, we have been asking ourselves when and how our lives could return to normal in the wake of a global pandemic. For black communities, however, this crisis has highlighted the inequities and disparities they live with every day.
As our nation and our city grapples with the systemic racism, we must raise our voices and take action to create a more just society. We must listen to our friends in the black community and learn how we can change the power structures and wealth inequalities that trap people in cycles of oppression. We must vote at the ballot and with our dollars to ensure that prosperity is shared by people of all colors.
In solidarity with JuneteenthICT and ICT UP, we invite you to join us for a discussion with Danielle Johnson, assistant director of WSU’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion and Bryce Graham, president of ICT Launchpad Inc. We will discuss how to leverage civic and political engagement to affect greater wealth creation and investment in communities of color.
