$75Our keynote presenter will be Kevin Papineau, Detective, Major Crimes Bureau, with the Elk Grove Police Department in California. Kevin was the lead investigator on the “Blue Pillow” child pornography investigation which led to the rescue of a 12 year old victim and the arrest of her abuser. Kevin, the survivor, and the survivor’s mother will discuss that successful search. This inspirational event will be hosted by KWCH-TV’s, News Anchor at Five and Ten, Michael Schwanke. In addition to recognition of our local heroes, a silent auction will enhance this encouraging and entertaining evening.
Proceeds from the Gala go towards general operating expenses for essential therapy services to children who have experienced abuse. Gifts to the CACSC are tax deductible.
The mission of the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County (CACSC) is to promote the safety, health and emotional well-being of abused children and their caregivers by bringing together public, private and community partners. The CACSC is the non-profit umbrella agency working to enhance collaboration and communication throughout the child abuse investigation process while improving support services to children and families. The CACSC provides non-duplicated multi-disciplinary services that are comprehensive and culturally competent in a dedicated, child-focused setting. The primary team members of the CACSC are existing medical, therapy, investigative, judicial, and advocacy services. The CACSC provides free services for child abuse victims and their families. On an annual basis, nearly 1,900 victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, internet crimes, human trafficking and runaways are served by the CACSC and partner agencies.
