Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer has served his two terms as mayor, and 10 candidates have thrown their names into the race to replace him. Join YPW and ICT Urban Professionals members and guests at The Hungry Heart, one of Wichita’s newest restaurants/microbreweries, to engage in conversation with candidates and hear each candidate in attendance give very brief remarks to the group.

Why you should attend: Voter turnout at local elections is historically very low. But that means it is an opportunity for young professionals to effect real change in the city by 1) voting at all, and 2) voting for the candidate you believe will best help accomplish the YPW mission of attracting, engaging, and retaining diverse young talent. This forum will give you the information you need to make an informed decision to help craft the future City of Wichita.

6-6:45: Mayoral candidate remarks (time frame is tentative, dependent on number of candidates able to attend)

6:45-7:30: Additional mingling

Parking Information: The Hungry Heart is located just north of INTRUST Bank Arena. This is a non-event night for the arena, so parking will be available in nearby lots. You can find all area parking options at Park Downtown.

This restaurant is located just north of the INTRUST Bank Arena, in the blue building connected to Lou’s Charcuteria (the brick building). If entering the address into a search engine, we recommend putting in the Arena’s address to avoid confusion.
