Places for People: Creating a Vibrant Wichita
Wed, Jul 7 · 5:30p – 7:00p
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more and to share your thoughts about proposals to increase the vibrancy of our community through changes to zoning regulations and assistance for reinvestment in existing neighborhoods.
Scott Wadle, the Wichita-Sedgwick County Metropolitan Area Planning Department (MAPD) Director, will walk us through the Places for People plan and how zoning shapes much of the built environment in Wichita, especially the location of land users, how we travel and how we interact with one another.
Proposed zoning changes would increase the speed of review and flexibility for certain types of residential uses along with introducing design standards to reflect the character of existing places.
This is an initial conversation about the benefits of reinvestment in neighborhoods, challenges that prevent reinvestment and how other communities are tackling these issues.
Please make plans to join in this important conversation about the future of Wichita.
