On Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the public is invited to visit the Carnegie Library and learn about its history and restoration by Fidelity Bank as part of the Centennial Open House. This family-friendly event will honor the original purpose of the building with a public reading and book giveaway of “The Wizard of Oz.” Visitors can view artist Bryan Haynes’ mural “The Treaty of Wichita” depicting a critical meeting between commissioners of the United States and all of the major Plains Indians tribes which took place 150 years ago in October 1865.
