2016 YP Summit Keynote Press Release
WICHITA, Kan. – New York Times Bestselling author Jon Acuff will be the keynote speaker at the 2016 Kansas Young Professional Summit on April 22 at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Wichita.
Acuff will share insight into navigating change in an ever-changing technological environment, and how YPs can approach change as an opportunity, rather than a challenge.
“YPW is ecstatic to host the 2016 Kansas YP Summit, and John Acuff will be an integral component to the program. His passion for companies and brands to thrive amidst turbulence aligns perfectly with this year’s theme ‘Taking Flight and Changing Tomorrow,” said Jamil Malone, 2016 YP Summit Event Planning Chair.
Acuff is the author of five books including his most recent, “Do Over: Rescue Monday, Reinvent Your Work and Never Get Stuck.” For 18 years he’s helped some of the biggest brands in the world tell their stories, including The Home Depot, Bose, Staples, and the Dave Ramsey Team. Most recently he’s spoken to hundreds of thousands of people across the country at events for companies such as Microsoft, Whirlpool and Comedy Central. He’s also written for Time, the Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, Reader’s Digest, and MSNBC.
“Change is upon us and depending on how you approach it, it can be either overwhelming or an opportunity. I look forward to speaking at the 2016 Kansas YP Summit and helping young professionals across Kansas create social change,” Acuff said.
This year’s statewide summit is hosted by Young Professionals of Wichita, which won the bid to host the 2016 Kansas YP Summit in 2015. A volunteer group along with staff is leading the event planning initiative. Acuff is the first of many speakers that will be announced. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
