2020 W Award Finalists
Every year our members accomplish stunning things in their professional lives, as well as their personal lives. This year those accomplishments will be celebrated virtually through Founders’ Week, presented by PEC, September 8 through 11.
The W Awards are awards for young professionals by young professionals. We are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of our up-and-coming young professionals and recognizes organizations that excel in their efforts to attract, retain, and develop young professionals in the Wichita community.

Community Service Award
presented by Evergy
This award is presented to a W member who is distinguished by their record of service to their community. They have engaged in continuing efforts to preserve and promote Wichita through their time, service, and talents.
Finalists for this year’s Community Service Award are:

- Becca Newman, Wichita Police Foundation
- TaDonne Neal, Wichita Public Schools
Innovations in Business Award
This award is presented to a W member who has demonstrated innovation in their industry, company or organization by: making a unique or especially noteworthy contribution to their business or profession; reinvigorating or modernizing a business; or successfully starting their own business.
Finalists for this year’s Innovation in Business Award are:
- Eddie Sandoval; Pinole Blue
- Ryan Revard; Headshots Bar & Grill
Volunteer of the Year
This award is presented to a volunteer who has shown an exemplary record of service to W and a significant contribution toward the mission of W and their respective team. They have demonstrated active involvement within their Action Team and have made significant contributions of volunteer time, talents, and service.
Finalists for this year’s Volunteer of the Year Award are:
- Alyssa York, REALTORS of South Central Kansas
- Emily Abrahams, Textron Aviation
- Jennifer Torline Tidball, K-State Research and Extension — Sedgwick County / Kansas State University
Distinguished Young Professional Award
presented by Wesley Medical Center
This award is presented to a W member who has reached personal and/or professional achievements in their career, has positively impacted our community, and show promise for continued success.
Finalists for this year’s Distinguished Young Professional Award are:
- Dalton Black, KMUW
- Darryl Kelly, Credit Union of America
- Joseph Shepard, Newman University
W Choice Award
Presented to two organizations, large and small, that excel in their efforts to attract, retain and develop young professionals in the Wichita community.
- Small Organization: The Kansas African American Museum
- Large Organization: BKD, CPA’s & Advisors
