YPW Updates Membership Dues

Feb 14, 2017 · Meghan Madsen - YPW Marketing Intern

In response to the growing number entrepreneurial startup companies and freelance contractors in the Wichita area, Young Professionals of Wichita (YPW) has lowered its membership fees from $150 to $65 for individuals not employed by member companies of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce. This change was effective January 1, 2017.

“Our focus in lowering the price of membership is to make membership more accessible to more people,” YPW Executive Director Suzy Finn said. “We know attracting and retaining young talent continues to be a challenge for businesses in our community. We want to help more young professionals make the connections in the community that they need to thrive and establish careers here.”

Although YPW already includes a diverse group of talented individuals who represent a variety of ages, ethnicities, genders, educational backgrounds, and professional experience, the group hopes this change will reinforce that it welcomes a wide variety of members.

“As an organization, we want to reflect and celebrate the diversity in our community,” Finn said. “More groups represented as members in our organization means more perspectives we can include in conversations and efforts to make progress in areas of interest to young professionals in our region.”

Employees of Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce members will continue to receive a discounted rate of $50 per year. Visit the Chamber’s member directory to find out whether your employer is a Chamber member. Employees of YPW Corporate Investors still receive free membership.
