2020 Leadership Academy Class
For 10 years, Leadership Academy – presented by Friends University – has been W’s premier program for young professionals desiring to level up professionally and personally. Twenty-five area young professionals have been selected to participate in the 2020 Leadership Academy class. These talented individuals were nominated to participate in the program by members of the community and completed an application, which was reviewed by a selection committee.
Over the course of six weeks, the class will be educated on their personal leadership styles, values, and strengths so they can grow as leaders, motivate others and impact change in their organizations and communities. The program, which begins in January, includes weekly sessions that feature interactive exercises, issue exploration, self-assessments, and in-depth conversations with Wichita’s top community and business leaders.
“W’s Leadership Academy is unique because it is designed by young professionals for young professionals,” said W Director Alejo Cabral. “We believe the class will learn as much from each other as they will from the experts they‘ll hear from. We trust that the diverse industries, years of practice, roles, and experiences embodied in each participant will be key to making that possible. Our city’s future is bright with talented individuals like these leaning into their role in leadership.”
