YPW announces 2019 Leadership Academy class

Nov 09, 2018 · wyoungpros

Twenty-six area young professionals have been selected to participate in the 2019 Young Professionals of Wichita’s 9th Leadership Academy class. This is a leadership development program for young professionals who are interested in growing their leadership capabilities. These talented individuals were nominated to participate in the program by members of the community and completed an application, which was reviewed by a selection committee.

The program educates YPs on their personal styles, values and strengths so they can grow as leaders, motivate others and impact change in their organizations and communities. The program, which begins in January, includes six weekly sessions that feature interactive exercises, issue exploration, self-assessments, and in-depth conversations with Wichita’s top community and business leaders.

“YPW’s leadership program is unique  because it is designed by YPs for YPs,” said YPW Director Alejo Cabral. “We believe the class will learn as much from each other as they will from the experts they‘ll hear from. We trust the diverse industries, years of practice, roles, and experiences embodied in each participant will be key to making that possible. Our cities future is bright with talented individuals like these leaning into their role in leadership.”

Leadership Academy would not be possible without the support of our community partners. Thank you to our sponsor Friends University for believing in YPW’s mission and our future leaders.
